Andover Public Schools
Solution
Data Technique deployed ConneXcloud™ at Andover public schools which is an identity-based Google Apps Driver. The solution provided by these two products provides provides a single point of management for user accounts sharing information across disparate applications.
Results
In addition to the monetary savings, Andover's IT department is now able to more efficiently operate its email system. Additions, deletions and changes to user accounts happen in real time. When a student is added, graduates, or moves to a different school, his or her information only has to be changed once and it is immediately reflected in Google.
Whitfield School
Solution
Data Technique deployed ConneXcloud™ at Whitfield School, a college prepatory school in St. Louis, Missouri connecting their internal systems to Google's Applications Suite. Data Technique deployed Google Apps which includes email and is free for education using ConneXcloud to provision accounts.
Results
The Director of Technology for Whitfield School stated that the cost savings of switching to Google Apps with with ConneXcloud is significant. In addition to the cost savings, by using ConneXcloud, Whitfield was able to expand the user accounts to include faculty, staff, parents and alumni.
Financial Advisory Firm
Solution
Data Technique created solutions for a financial advisory firm in Springfield, Missouri to deploy workstation images, software, policies, and patches to offices in 28 states for 2000 users.
Results
These new solutions cut administration time by 40 hours per month, and reduced deployment time from 3 weeks to 2 nights.
K-12 Education
Solution
One of the largest school districts in the state of Kansas, needed to automate manual processes, make information easier to access, and secure their network.
Results
Data Technique developed a self-provisioning network that automated a process that typically took the administrative staff weeks to complete. With the new system, data throughout the network was more accurate, again increasing efficiency. Finally, security was enhanced through stronger enforcement of security policies and a reduction in rogue accounts. Later projects allowed secure remote access to confidential student information by parents and teachers through a portal which is fully integrated with an authentication directory.
Banking Industry
Solution
A banking enterprise in Wichita, Kansas needed a solution that would allow software deployments to be distributed in a timely manor to bank branches located all over the country. They also needed a solution that would allow them to monitor all the servers and branch links.
Results
Data Technique, with Novell ZENworks for Servers, was able to help the company meet these needs. Now workstation and server applications can be deployed overnight to each site or specific sites. With a customizable schedule, deployments can be scheduled as not to affect normal network performance. With the ZENworks monitoring solution, the company's staff is now notified when a harddrive or CPU fan is failing. This greatly reduces down time, and saves the staff from hours of diagnostics.
College Prepatory School
Solution
A college preparatory school in the St. Louis, Missouri area needed a cost-effective method of providing laptop access to students in each classroom so they could immediately research class material.
Results
Data Technique designed, built, and tested a Linux laptop based upon Novell SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 (SLED10) with a number of customer modifications and additions for use in their predominately Windows/Citrix environment, including Active Directory authentication, disconnected authentication, imaged workstation support, centralized login script support, and package distribution. Data Technique also provided training to the school's staff in Linux administration and troubleshooting.
Healthcare Industry
Solution
A not-for-profit health systems company based in northern Virginia needed a desktop management system.
Results
Data Technique implemented Novell's ZENworks Desktop Management system. This allowed INova to manage 15,000 workstations, 1000 custom application configurations, in a 24/7, high-availability, Microsoft-only environment.
Commercial and Residential Construction
Solution
A construction company based in Kansas City, Missouri needed an identity management system
Results
Data Technique developed an IDM2-based Identity Management infrastructure for integrating a construction company vertical market application (CMiC) that includes HR, project management, job costing, and general ledger into their existing eDirectory and Oracle Internet Directory infrastructure. Additional projects included Meta-directory, automated provisioning, single sign-on, directory integrated portal, Universal workstation image, image distribution, retention of PC documents and settings, and addressing current network issues related to software, patches, and profiles.
